I see this massive list of games I’ve collected over the years, knowing that in the unlikely event that Steam ever goes away or my account somehow gets lost/compromised, those games could be gone forever. There’s this thing a lot of gamers refer to as “gaming paralysis”, where you stare at your backlog with a look of complete bewilderment, overwhelmed by the number of options in front of you. Buy something because I’m excited about its release (or a sale is seemingly too good to pass up), and then let it sit for years before I get around to playing it. ![]() That seems to be the way of things with me. I’ve been a part of the Steam ecosystem since 2004’s Half-Life 2, a game that I didn’t play until 2009. How on earth did I get here? Steam sales, bundles, and a lack of willpower, that’s how. ![]() ![]() One-thousand four-hundred and seventy-three games.
